Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 5, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how keeper (“keeper”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) collects, uses, and shares information across the keeper website (including our pre-launch waitlist) and the keeper mobile app and related services (together, the “Service”). keeper is a social app for saving photos of meals, rating them, keeping restaurant lists, and sharing them with friends.

By using the Service you agree to this Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. Who this applies to (age requirement)

keeper is intended for people 13 years of age or older. In the app we ask for your date of birth during sign-up to enforce this, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Where local law sets a higher age of digital consent, that age applies. If you believe a child under 13 has given us their information, contact us at support@getkeeper.social and we will delete it.

2. Information we collect

We collect only what we need to run the Service:

CategoryExamplesWhy we collect it
Waitlist The email address you submit to join our pre-launch waitlist. To contact you about your invitation to keeper and related launch updates.
Account information Email address, date of birth, username, display name. If you use Sign in with Apple or Google, basic profile details those services share with us (such as name and email). To create and secure your account and enforce our 13+ minimum age.
Content you create Photos, meals you log (“keeps”), food and vibe ratings, captions, dish tags, comments, and restaurant lists (“gatekeeps”). To provide the core Service and show your content to the people you choose.
Social connections Accounts you follow, who follows you, friends you tag, and accounts you block. To operate your feed, tagging, and the social features of the app.
Precise location Your device’s location, only when you grant permission and use a location feature. To show restaurants near you when you log a keep. You can turn this off in your device settings at any time.
Device & technical data Device model, operating system version, app version, update identifiers, and a push notification token. To deliver notifications, diagnose crashes, and keep the app working.
Feedback you send Your message, an optional screenshot you attach, and basic device details. To respond to and act on the feedback you choose to send us.
Identifiers A user ID we assign to your account. To associate the information above with your account.

On our website we also collect limited, aggregated analytics (page views, the site that referred you, and country) via Cloudflare Web Analytics, which is cookieless and does not fingerprint you or track you across other websites. We set no cookies on the website. Loading the site also sends your IP address to the services that deliver parts of it, as it would on any website: Google Fonts (typefaces), unpkg (the mapping library), and Esri (the map tiles). We do not control what those providers do with that request, and we receive nothing back from them about you.

We do not use advertising trackers, and we do not track you across other companies’ apps and websites.

3. How we use your information

We will not sell, rent, or share your information with third parties for their own marketing.

4. How your content is shared with other users

keeper is a social product. The keeps, ratings, comments, lists, and profile details you create in the app are shared with other users according to the audience and privacy settings you choose (for example, whether your account is public or private, and who you tag or share a list with). Hidden tags and private lists are not shown to people you have not shared them with. You control your audience through the settings inside the app.

5. Service providers we share information with

We share information with a small number of vendors who process it on our behalf so we can run the Service. We do not sell your personal information.

We may also disclose information if required by law, to enforce our Terms, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of our users or the public.

6. Location information

keeper only accesses your precise location while you are using the app and only after you grant permission. We use it to find and rank restaurants near you when logging a keep. We do not track your location in the background. You can revoke location access at any time in your device’s settings; the rest of the app will keep working.

7. Notifications

If you enable notifications, we store a device push token to deliver them. You can turn individual notification types on or off in the app’s Settings, and disable notifications entirely in your device settings.

8. Data retention and deletion

We keep your account information for as long as your account is active. You can delete your account at any time from Settings → Delete account inside the app. When you do:

If you join our waitlist, we keep your email until you ask us to delete it, or until 12 months after keeper opens to the public, whichever comes first. We may retain limited records where required for legal, security, or fraud-prevention reasons.

9. Security

We protect your information using industry-standard measures, including encryption in transit (TLS) and row-level access controls that restrict data to the accounts entitled to see it. API keys for third-party services are held on our servers and never shipped to the app. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information and to respond promptly to any incident. If a data breach occurs that is likely to result in serious harm to you, we will notify you and the relevant regulator as required by applicable law.

10. International data transfers

keeper and our service providers may store and process your information in the United States and other countries where they operate. These locations may have data-protection laws different from those in your country. By using the Service, you consent to this transfer and processing.

11. Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information. You can:

If you are in a jurisdiction with a data-protection authority, such as the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) or your national authority in the EU or UK, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with them. We hope you will contact us first so we can try to resolve your concern directly.

12. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the “Last updated” date above, and for material changes we will provide notice in the app or by email. Your continued use of the Service after an update means you accept the revised Policy.
